Monroe Public Schools recently came together for a heartwarming cause through the Hats for Hope fundraiser. All five schools in the district participated in this fun and meaningful event, encouraging students and staff to don their craziest, most creative caps to school for a donation of at least $1.

The results were nothing short of extraordinary. Collectively, Monroe’s schools raised nearly $5,000, with all proceeds going toward the fight against childhood cancer. From funky fedoras to outrageous beanies, the halls were filled with laughter, color, and a shared sense of purpose as the community rallied for this important cause. Many thanks to parent Rebecca Santoli in spearheading this event across the district.

Hats for Hope not only brought joy to the schools but also highlighted the power of collective action. By combining creativity and compassion, Monroe Public Schools are making a real difference in the lives of children and families impacted by cancer.

This fundraiser is a shining example of how small gestures—like wearing a silly hat—can lead to big changes when a community comes together. Monroe continues to prove that kindness, hope, and teamwork can help turn the tide against childhood cancer.
